• OneThing 2009

Here we are at the close of another year. Its SO hard to believe. But in just a few short days MANY (approx up to 30,000 people) will gather in Kansas City for IHOP-KC's annual OneThing Conference to be held in downtowns Bartle Hall. This is going to be an exciting time as many youth and young adults as well as us older ones will gather to hear what the Lord is saying to the church in this hour and how we can partner with the heart of God. Here is what Mike Bickle and Lou Engle have to say about it:

We stand at a critical juncture in our nation's history. It is time to encounter God and to take action. The Holy Spirit is visiting His people with power. At the same time, the powers of darkness are raging against the moral fabric of our nation. The light is getting brighter as the darkness gets darker.

Many of you will have heard of the spiritual awakening at our Bible school. On Wednesday, November 11, the Spirit fell on a class for more than 15 hours. The word spread quickly and over 2,000 people spontaneously gathered in the auditorium from all over Kansas City, as deliverance and physical healings continued to increase. We canceled our classes for the next week so that each one of our 1,000 students and interns could receive from the Spirit in an extended way.

We decided to meet nightly from 6:00pm to midnight because His manifest presence continues to increase. Visitors are pouring in from many places across America to partake of this spiritual awakening.

We will continue these evening meetings until our onething conference, December 28–31, 2009, when we are expecting 20,000 young adults to gather for worship, teaching, and to participate in the supernatural ministry of the Spirit.

Last year, over 16,000 young adults attended this conference. We are still hearing testimonies of lives that were changed. This year, we are expecting to receive even more from the Spirit. We believe that this will be a historic and important conference, and encourage you to attend.

The theme for onething'09 is "What is the Spirit saying to the Church?" Our team will proclaim what we believe the Spirit is prophetically speaking to the Church in this hour. We will also share practical ways in which we can “adopt” high schools and colleges across our nation as we envision young people to impact each sphere of society with works of justice and acts of compassion. At the conference, we will have extended ministry times to receive healing, renewal, and impartation from the Spirit. We believe that the Spirit will release His power at this conference, as evidenced by what He is currently doing in our evening meetings.

Mark Anderson, a senior international leader in YWAM who also works closely with Campus Crusade for Christ, will host forums for leaders to discuss how we can systematically evangelize entire cities and campuses in partnership with the houses of prayer in their area. Mark has remarkable insight that comes from his 30 years of successful ministry in evangelism. The Lord has given him some bold new strategies for this hour.

The crisis in our nation is real. The serpentine stranglehold of abortion continues to squeeze the life out of over 4,000 wombs daily. Sexual immorality, both heterosexual and homosexual, are reaching epic heights of perversity. The number of women and children being trafficked into the dark underbelly of the sex industry in our cities is growing at an alarming rate. Entire school systems are giving way to darkness. The sanctity of marriage is under siege, threatening to destroy the moral foundations of our nation.

We will also address the growing crisis that is emerging in many churches across America. A new wave of confusion is systematically seducing many young adults into deception. Sincere young people whose hearts were once ablaze for Jesus are being allured into compromise on foundational biblical truths and practices, while at the same time they are increasing in works of compassion and justice. No amount of increased ministry activity can “balance out” their profound spiritual compromises. In the name of tolerance, they are settling for a humanistic and "politically correct" theology that trivializes the glory of Jesus. Many young adult ministries are falling prey to this as they are seeking “relevance” that dulls the razor’s edge of truth for the sake of man’s approval. It is not enough to mention Jesus’ name if they deny foundational truths about Him. Our works of justice must flow fromdeep allegiance to Jesus and the Scripture.

Our nation has never stood on such a precarious footing as today. The onslaught of spiritual darkness is increasing in our classrooms, boardrooms, courtrooms, and bedrooms. We must confront the confusion that is pouring forth from many pulpits as well as from the halls of Washington. It is time to draw a line in the sand. We must hear what the Spirit is saying and we must act on it. The Spirit will confirm the truth with demonstrations of power.

It is darkest before the dawn. Our hearts are full of faith. We know another historic "Great Awakening" is soon to sweep across our nation. We look with confidence to God’s promise: “In the last days . . . I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh (Acts 2:17-21). All nations will receive the witness of kingdom with power (Mt. 24:14Rev. 7:9). What a privilege to live in this awesome hour of history.

At this very hour, Jesus is raising up young adults who are being mobilized to cry out in night and day prayer, win the lost, heal the sick, and do works of compassion and justice as they impact the very fabric of our society.

Please join us in Kansas City from December 28–31. The onething’09 conference is FREE. You can register at IHOP.org/onething09

    With passion for Jesus,
    Mike Bickle and Lou Engle

  • I Finally Go digital!

  • IHOP-KC: A year in review...

Totally facing the unknown in world so much larger than I, we arrived in Kansas City. It was exactly one year ago now that my brother Jonathan and I made the LONG journey to KC. If I am to be honest I have to admit i was quite afraid on every level. Moved into a house with strangers. And tried to find my way to the closest wal-mart in a city I had never even visited. Somehow the Lord met me in my weakness. And two days later began the journey that has impacted me in most profound ways. I stand in awe at the journey to this place and as well as the continued journey even now. But I am SO thankful for what I have experienced the past year. In brief summary, here are some highlights of what the past year has looked like for me:

    *Moved to KC
    *Thrust into worship leading
*Led worship at the Onething '08 conference for 20,000 in attendance and those watching LIVE on GodTV
*Was featured on 5 of Forerunner Music's Limited Edition (LE) CD's that are sent out all over the world.
*Was featured on 4 other IHOP artist albums
*Traveled througout the U.S. to 8 states leading worship and teaching.
*Traveled to Hong Kong to minister at the House of Prayer there
*Helped to start the African American Forerunner Alliance
*Accepted a faculty position with the Forerunner Music Academy (FMA) as a worship team coach to 3rd year students.

This is a glimpse of what I have been doing for those who didnt know. But ABOVE ALL THESE THINGS, the most important thing that has occured that God has caused my heart to come alive and established me as an intercessor as I have spent time gazing at this beatiful man, Jesus. My passion for the Lord has been fueled in the place of prayer which allows me to be able to more effectively pray for YOU, my partner! I say this often but I cant say it enough, THERE IS NO WAY THAT ANY OF THESE THINGS COULD BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT YOUR LOVE, ENCOURAGEMENT AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT. Thank you for allowing me to be one who stands in the gap for the nation and nations of the earth in a prayer movement that continues day and night. Blessings you all!

What does the Future look like?

Great question. Well, Not quite the first year. As a full time staff member, I have required prayer room hours as well as service hours to fulfill. The premise is that we dont want to be a people just prays for justice on the earth and the return of Christ to the earth to establish his kingdom, we want to combine the cry for justice with ACTS of justice. For ME, rather than 75 hour weeks (like I have been doing) I am taking the road to humility and choosing to not lead a much, not travel as much and I recently switched my prayer room hours to the Nightwatch (midmight to 6am, six days a week) so that i can spend quality time with the Lord in prayer and worship. I will continue to be a leader with the AAFA as well as teach at FMA but I am chosing to slow down a bit. Truth is, this a Youth and Young adult ministry ran by 18 to 25 year olds. And I am NOT 21 anymore. The reality stings a little but I am learning my limits and accepting my role as a "Father in the house". So the future isnt completely clear but I am excited to have entered a season of rest.

  • Honor where honor is due

If there is one thing I NO doubt about, its that I am a blessed man. I have been blessed with a great family who loves the Lord. Im blessed to have friends who are supportive and not judgmental. Im blessed now in my life to be able to do what I love to do and travel the world and meet many new people. Im blessed to be connected to a ministry such as IHOP that is focused on the mandate God has given many people across the earth as intercessors contending for the return of Jesus. But in all this blessing I realize that none of it would be possible if others hadn't paved the way and payed a price so that I could enjoy life as I know it. There are the obvious people to thank like Mother, Father, Siblings, family, Pastor, Friends etc... But I want to thank one person in particular in this blog. You see, the gifts of God are free but not cheap. Many people see and acknowledge the gifts of God in me but I want the world to know that there has been a price to pay for it and i have NOT paid it alone. There is one person in particular (whose name I will protect here) that has walked through fire WITH me AND BECAUSE of me. She is a woman of character and endurance and has been through more in her young life than many women go through in a lifetime. When I was used and abused by other ministries, she was there. When I was weak and made poor decisions, she was right there. And even when I hurt her many times, in the end, she still believed in me and wanted God's best for me. She is a woman who has paid a price and I can never repay her all that has been stolen from her. You know who you are and you may NEVER see this. But in case you do, I want you to know that I love you and I want to thank you publicly for the price you have paid with me. Its been a while since we have spoken but not one day goes by that I dont think about you and wonder how you are or say a prayer for you. You are a strong woman of God and I deeply respect you. I pray for the abundance of the Father to be on your life, that you may know what is the length, width, and height of the love of God in a measure indescribable. Bless you woman of valor....

  • His Kindness......

    Romans 2:1-4

1You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. 2Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 3So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment? 4Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance?

What is the "kindness of God"? Well, I have had an eye opening revelation as to what his kindness looks like in all practicality. I always thought it was how nice God is. Most people, Christians included, have an idea that he is MOSTLY angry at us; that he is somewhere up in heaven sitting on a thrown and floating on a cloud with a big stick in his hand just waiting for us to mess up so that he can beat us with his stick in anger and punish us for our wrong doing. Well, the book of Revelations makes it clear that he IS a God of judgement. But he judges and punishes injustice in the earth. Not weakness. He is overwhelmed with love for you and I. We absolutely ravish his heart and this is the knowledge I have never known until now.

There is a saying we use often that has almost become cliche. Its that we are all "weak and broken". But its so true. Recently I returned from a trip to Hong Kong. With 24 hrs of travel there and back and a little downtime while there, I had plenty of time to ponder life. I realized even in the going how weak I really am. I felt like I was going empty handed with NOTHING to offer the people of Hong Kong. The Lord, just prior to the trip, had already shown me some weakness in me that I didnt even know was still there. Yet he somehow was able to use me anyway. But on the long journey home, I began to really think about weakness. The Lord LOVES weakness. Its the means by which he does ANYTHING that is of lasting effect in the earth. Even Jesus BECAME weak so that for all of eternity we could have access to God. But though he LOVES weakness, man hates weakness. We want to put our best foot forward and present ourselves as strong and having it all together. But the Lord, in his Kindness, exposes our weakness so as to make us stronger. I liken it unto a friend who is a REAL friend. If I was ready to go on stage before thousands of people to sing, a real friend wouldnt let me go with my pants unzipped or a mis-matched socks on. He would tell me what my weakness is so that it can be corrected so it wont be distraction for those who are watching. I know this is a simplistic analogy but so it is with the Kindness of God. He exposes to us what we cannot see or refuse to look at so as to make us spotless and not a distraction to the world around us.
This is why his Kindness leads to repentance. It invokes a response from us to turn away from our sin.

I realize more today than yesterday how broken I am. But I know that he is Kind and I am so honored to called a friend of God. And that he exposes me so that he can make me strong. Yeah, it hurts like crazy. But its worth it in the end. And though I havent made it to the end yet, I am learning to enjoy the journey.....

  • The Final Four! (My Detroit Experience)

    My Detroit experience.....

So it seems that what happened to Mayor Greg Ballad of Indianapolis is all the rage on the news circuit right now. In case you haven't heard, He was mugged and beaten up when he came to the NCAA final four tournament this weekend. Well, Mayor, I can relate!

I was blessed to be invited to come and lead worship for the NCAA Final Four Christian coaches and players. In exchange I received tickets to the main events. It was a blessing and certainly a lifetime experience for me. I know what you may be thinking. "But Jaye you dont even like sports!" Well, that has been true in the past and I am still not crazy about sports but I decided to endure for these games. While there, I had some INCREDIBLE God-moments. The Lord REALLY showed up in the prayer room just about everytime we went in there. We saw a coach that was wearing a neck brace, healed. Another man experienced God in a real tangible way. One man received Christ on a street corner. And The Lord brought RICH revelation on some things while we were there. (We being me, my brother and our friend Will who drove to Detroit).

On our last full day in Detroit, we decided to visit the worlds largest African American museum of history and Art. It was AMAZING to say the least. (i will have to write a note on that ALONE). After about two hours in the museum, we left. As we walked toward Will's car, we notice two older black women standing near our car and one was saying "I already called the police. I saw him do it." The passenger side front window of the car was shattered out and the thief, desperate for drugs, reached in stole the first thing he could grab - MY bag which contained everything that I need for daily functionality as a missionary. The cops came and took a report but really acted like they could have cared LESS. SO. I am in a desperate place right now.

Below is an itemized list of the things that were stolen from me. Im posting it here for TWO reasons. One: if any of you can help replenish these items, I would be eternally grateful. Two: Even if you CANT, would you pray with me that the Lord would provide the money to purchase new items SOON?

The way of the Heart (book) $15
    Fire Within (book) $20
    Misc cables for laptop $100

I hate using facebook for this but its the quickest (and most humbling) way of letting you all know whats going on and how you can help. Since I dont have a computer anymore, I dont know when I will be able to get back on Facebook. But if you happen to one who would like to donate toward replenishing these items, click here. You can securely use a credit or debit card on Paypal. And you DONT need a paypla ccount to use it. Its easy and fast. If you would rather get tax credit for your gift, send your money to:

  • Pray: The Prophetic Song

Many have asked about my song entitled "Pray" as it is a very prophetic song. I will tell you the story behind the song..

So, from 1998 to 2001 I lived a small town in FL that was (at the time) very oppressed. There was a lot of demonic activity and the occult as well as extreme racial tension. But the Lord sent me with a team of others to be catalysts that would be used to shift the spiritual atmosphere of this region. During my time there as a young worship leader, I had done all I knew to do in my weak frame to change the mindsets and mentalities of those I was there to serve as well as the community. One day after work on my way home, the Lord spoke very clearly to me and said "You will continue to strive. Nothing will ever change unless the body begins to PRAY!" So, these were the words that were birthed prophetically through song:

    Vs1

Am  G D  (repeat for entire verse)

Disease and famine in the land

The house divided will never stand

We will never see his face

    We'll take advantage of his

    We wont hear God anymore

We'll throw our hands up and ask "what for?"

Because our motives will be wrong

This will be just another song

    Except we pray

    CHORUS

    G G/A D

    Pray with a fervent heart

    F C D G

For God to move in our land

    G G/A D

If we pray according to God's Holy word

    F C

There will be a change as such

    C D G

Because the prayer of the righteous availeth much.

    VS2

The word of God will become stale

    No intercession or trevail

    Living Water will dry up

We will drink from an empty cup

    Except we pray

    Chorus twice and end

May you be blessed by this song as it stirs your heart to intercession!

  • A blog about blogging....

So I am trying to get better at this blogging thing. While its TRUE that I can express myself more clearly in writing than speaking, Its hard to take the time to sit and write. • President Barack Luther King Jr.??

So I get a text message this morning that says, " The Inauguration of President Barack Obama is not the END or completion of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's dream. Keep the dream alive by continuing to make a difference in your home, your church and your community". While I applaud the nobility of that message for encouraging me to "make a difference", I have to really stop and ask myself, is this inauguration even the BEGINNING of the dream? Why is it that SOOO many people are merging these two men together? Just because they both are men of color, DOES NOT mean that this inauguration has ANYTHING to do with "the dream" of Dr. King. See, Dr. King was a believer and follower of Jesus Christ and found his identity in THAT FIRST before being a "black man". That was his second identity. In fact, he said himself that part of his dream would be the day that "a man would be judged NOT by the color of his skin, but the CONTENT OF HIS CHARACTER..". If that is defined by the spiritual and moral stand of a man, then Obama has little to do with the dream. Im sure that when Dr. King had that dream, he WASN'T dreaming of a man of color who would be elected to presidency only to legalize the killing of babies and redefine marriage to eventually between anyone and everything. These seem to be the first things on his agenda. Im not trying to start a fire. God know there's already plenty of those. I just want my people to see through spiritual eyes rather than being blinded by the color of a mans skin. Our identity as Christians is who we are FIRST. Paul said it best, " I am crucified with Christ. Its not I that live but Christ who lives in me"... Some thoughts to ponder...

    Lets Pray for President Obama

  • "Come Holy Spirit": A Tribute to Jill Austin

Jill, You've done it again. But this time without a microphone or even a word spoken.

Throughout the course of your life and ministry, you had communed with Holy Spirit in a way that provoked God to move. You spoke prophetically into the lives of millions of people around the world. And with the whisper of three words, "Holy Spirit Come", became a revolutionary.

On August 9th, 2008 you spoke a word over my life that would absolutely change the course of my life forever! With many, many watching by GodTV and webstream, you recognized my hunger and called me into an immediate place of feasting with Holy Spirit. And with those famous three words of yours, you and I ministered to countless through worship and the word. That night, I learned many lessons but one that I will never forget. I learned that authority and humility must be married in order to be effective.

On Jan 1, 2009, I was blessed to be a lead worshipper at the OneThing conference and we spoke briefly for a moment afterward. You were so encouraging to me and I appreciate the mother-like influence you had on me. I felt validated and important.

On Jan 9, 2009, you did it again. This time without a microphone or even word spoken. You taught me how to take God out the box we build for him often. We were contending for your complete and total healing..... and you taught me that you GOT IT. Just because it didnt come in the package that I desired for it to doesnt mean that GOd that didnt hear and answer us. You are now completely healed and walking with him. We prayed by your model "Holy Spirit Come". And he did just that.

So, thank you for who you were, who are are and the lessons that your lifes message will continue to teach. You are loved and will be missed. But I'll see you again soon......
